Parents Support
In case you have forgotten your password use the following link https://kidoz.net/parents/forgot_password.php in order to reset your password and create a new one. If your mobile device is locked in KIDOZ Kid Mode please do the following: 1. To exit the app, please first click the small X in the top right corner of the screen. 2. If you are asked to enter a password, please type ‘exitkidoz’ or ‘exitkidapp’ as a general password to get out of KIDOZ (this password is ONLY for EXITING the app and cannot be used as a master password for other features such as logging in or parental controls). Please make sure to type in the password exactly as we have written it.
Please note: If you have changed your password, particularly if you changed it via a computer and not on the device, you cannot log out with the new password you’ve just created – or log in to the parental controls – UNTIL you have logged in to KIDOZ with this password on the tablet. Make sure after changing the password online that you ‘clear data’ for KIDOZ and then launch the app again. Then make sure to “SIGN IN” with your existing account link, using your new password.
You can enable (or disable) any of your apps to be visible on the KIDOZ interface. Most apps do not require an Internet connection in order to use them. In order to add an app to the KIDOZ environment, it needs to be installed on your device first. (For this we recommend exiting KIDOZ, downloading the apps you want to install, and then launching KIDOZ again.) Then enter the Parental Control Dashboard and click on the “Apps” section. Select the relevant child’s account (if you have more than one child account). You will then see a list of apps. Some will be checked – those were the ones you had installed that were previously approved by us, and some will be unchecked – those are all the other apps you have on your device that we have not yet had a chance to review. To add apps you want to enable, simply click the checkbox next to those apps you want to add. And make sure to SAVE your settings.
KIDOZ comes with support and content in over 30 languages. In some versions of KIDOZ, you will be prompted to choose a main interface language on launching the app. If you have an older version or if you want to change the interface language for KIDOZ, please enter the Parental Control and then the “Account” section. In that screen you can choose the Main language for the app. You can also choose up to 3 different languages to receive content in for each child profile. The language settings will affect videos and websites. Many of the games offer in-game language support but we do not control the language of the games. Log in to the Parental Control and choose ‘Account’. Then click the child profile you want to edit. You will see 3 drop-down menus that will enable you to choose 3 different languages you want to get content in for that child. Don’t forget to click SAVE when you’ve finished editing your account. The following are the current languages supported: Arabic, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish (also Latin American Spanish), Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese.
The content displayed on the Daily Picks is kid-friendly content that is already accessible on KIDOZ in our different content galleries. Our intelligent recommendation engine searches for content that matches the parameters of your child’s profile and brings forward content items that seem to match the age, language and user preferences (based on most popular usage by your child) to bring forth content that will be more of what your child likes. There is currently no separate controls for the Daily Picks. This feature cannot be turned off, but if you are a PRO user, you will not see any of the promoted apps that are included in the Daily Picks. If you need any assistance or have other questions concerning KIDOZ and how to make the most of our app, please write to us at support@kidoz.net.
KIDOZ Mobile allows for multiple kid profiles under one parent account. Adding a second (third or fourth…) child to an existing KIDOZ account only takes a minute. Whenever you launch KIDOZ you are automatically asked to choose a kid profile, or to add a new child, which you can do by clicking on the “Parent’s, click here to add another child” link. From here, you’ll need to enter your personal Parental Control password and then you’ll be directed to a short form when you’ll need to enter your child’s name (or nickname), date of birth and gender. Each child can have their own avatar, background, and will have the content that is relevant for their age. You can also add more kid accounts anytime from within KIDOZ by clicking the kid avatar in the home screen. Please remember that the main account you create, with an email address and password, is the parents’ account – and then under the parents account you can add as many kid profiles as you’d like.
KIDOZ PRO offers advanced parental control features, including adding a password on exit, or setting a timer to restrict screen play. If you do not wish to subscribe, you will still have full use of the protected Kid Mode, including all of the kid-friendly content offered by KIDOZ. You can purchase KIDOZ PRO in-app via the Parental Controls. If you purchased a PRO membership the PRO features should automatically be unlocked for you – all you need to do is exit the Parental Controls area and then log back in.
You can do this in the Parental Controls, under the Account settings. Type in the address you wish to use in the address field by tapping where your current address appears. When prompted, please enter your account password, and confirm your password, to ensure the address is updated. Make sure to save your changes. You may be required to log in again to KIDOZ with the new address.
KIDOZ offers two safe modes: regular safe mode will block access to third-party links like ads and in-app purchases. Extra safe mode will also do this, AND will keep your device in KIDOZ mode, even if you turn it off in the middle. When you turn it back on, the device will automatically launch in KIDOZ. To activate KIDOZ safe environment, tap the lock icon and choose the type of safe mode you prefer for your child. Safe mode applies to ALL kid profiles.
Timed activity is available as a premium feature and requires that you have a KIDOZ PRO membership. Once you have purchased KIDOZ PRO, log in to the Parental Controls and choose the Timer icon. The time limit is set by both defining HOW MUCH time (overall) you will allow your child to play and WHAT TIME FRAME (between which hour and which hour) he can do that time. The hours are based on a 24-hour clock, so make sure when setting the time frame, that you are doing it during ‘waking hours’ and not in the middle of the night. If you have more than one child account, the time restrictions only apply to the particular account you set it for. Select the kid profile you want to add a timer to, and then activate the timer. Timer settings are set for the amount of time (for example, 2 hours) and the time frame (for example between 2 and 6 PM), and apply to each kid profile separately.
Certain features of KIDOZ, such as logging in, registration, creating KID accounts, and access to online content, require Internet. KIDOZ offers a wide library of kid-friendly online content in the form of videos, websites and games. All of this content does require an Internet connection. However, KIDOZ is also a sophisticated safe environment that can automatically identify kid-friendly apps you have installed on your device and display them for use on your child’s KIDOZ desktop – allowing your child to play safely without access to any of your device’s settings or data, and without the need for an Internet connection.
You can enable (or disable) any online game, video channel or website to be visible or hidden on the KIDOZ interface. This is a PRO feature. Please enter the parental controls and click the online content section (Videos, Games, Websites) you want to manage. Select the relevant kid account (if you have more than one kid account) and then, select the item you wish to enable or disable for that child. In some cases it may be necessary to exit and then re-enter KIDOZ to see your changes.
Adding videos and websites is also a PRO feature. To add videos, first make sure they are uploaded to YouTube. Then log in to Parental Controls, choose the Videos button, choose the Child Account you want to add the videos for, then click the My Channels button, and follow the instructions on screen. With websites, simply tap the My Websites button and type in the URL of the website you want to add. If you have any problems, please write to our support: support@kidoz.net for more assistance.
Canceling your subscription is done via our payment partner Bluesnap (formerly Plimus). Please go to Bluesnap general support form, enter the order confirmation number you got from KIDOZ when the subscription was bought, and select the “Cancel Subscription” option. A confirmation email about your canceled subscription will be sent to you as soon as the action takes place. Once the subscription has been cancelled, we can close your account, but in order to ensure that there are no further charges, please follow the procedure above. If you want to delete the parents account please go to your device Settings, tap on Apps, choose KIDOZ, and then tap the ‘Clear data’ button. The account will also be deleted if you uninstall the KIDOZ application. You can do that from the same location. If you want to completely remove your account from our records, please let us know and we will manually delete your account. If you want to keep the parent account but want to delete a child account, then please log in to the Parental Controls on KIDOZ, and choose the Accounts icon. Scroll down to where you see the child accounts and choose the ‘Delete’ option.
Please send us a copy of the email notification you received with the order reference number, confirming your subscription purchase, so we can locate your membership and take care of this for you.
