This month, Cecile shares her top 5 favorite mobile games and why they hold a special place in her heart. From puzzle challenges that sharpen her problem-solving skills to multiplayer adventures that bring her exciting opportunities for socializing, her gaming picks reveal the unique blend of relaxation and strategy that makes her tick.
Q1: What are your top mobile games, and why do you enjoy them?
I enjoy Wood Block, Jigsaw Puzzle, Mobile Legends, Farmville 2, and Plants vs. Zombies 2. Each game offers something unique—Wood Block and Jigsaw Puzzle are relaxing and mentally stimulating, Mobile Legends is great for competitive strategy, Farmville 2 is a soothing farming escape, and Plants vs. Zombies 2 combines strategy with humor in a delightful way.
Q2: How did you discover these games?
I discovered them through friends, family and social trends. Stress-reliever games are usually suggestions from my mom while my friends always ask me to play games that require more players like Mobile Legends. I discoveredAmong Us through watching variety game streamers like Sykkuno and Disguised Toast.
Q3: What features of these games do you find most engaging?
Wood Block - The simplicity and relaxing nature of arranging blocks into neat rows or columns make it a great stress-reliever. The progressively challenging gameplay keeps me hooked, as it tests my spatial awareness and planning skills.
Jigsaw Puzzle - The sense of accomplishment after completing a puzzle is deeply satisfying. The variety of themes and vibrant images makes it visually appealing, while the option to adjust difficulty levels ensures the game remains enjoyable and challenging.
Mobile Legends - The competitive multiplayer aspect is thrilling. I enjoy strategizing with my team, selecting heroes with unique abilities, and adapting to opponents’ strategies during the match. The constant updates, new heroes, and in-game events keep the game fresh and exciting. Although I am not good at this game, playing it with friends with voice comms turned on makes it way more fun and engaging.
Farmville 2 - The creative freedom to design my farm and manage resources is a highlight. I love planting crops, raising animals, and crafting goods to fulfill orders. The social aspect—interacting with friends and participating in co-op tasks—adds an engaging layer to the game. It’s funny that sometimes I have to personally message my friend to give me the ingredients that I need to start making the urgent orders.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 - The strategic tower defense gameplay is incredibly engaging. I enjoy experimenting with different plant combinations to counter waves of quirky zombie enemies. The game’s colorful graphics, humorous animations, and ability to upgrade plants for better defenses add depth and fun to the experience. I’ve been playing this game ever since its first release and I love how the game evolved into how it is now, very nostalgic!
Each of these games offers a distinct experience, combining fun, creativity, strategy, and social interaction, which keeps them engaging and enjoyable for me.
Q4: Do you ever have to balance gaming with your responsibilities at work or home?
As a casual gamer, I don’t find it too difficult to balance gaming with other responsibilities. Since I play games like Wood Block, Jigsaw Puzzle, or Farmville 2, which don’t demand long sessions or constant attention, it’s easy to fit them into my schedule during breaks or downtime.
For games that require more focus, like Mobile Legends or Among Us, I make sure to play only when I have free time or after completing important tasks. I prioritize responsibilities at work or home and see gaming as a reward or a way to unwind—not something that takes precedence.
By keeping gaming sessions short and viewing them as a fun, relaxing hobby rather than a must-do activity, I can enjoy the best of both worlds without feeling overwhelmed or distracted.
Q5: Any tips for someone new to mobile gaming?
I’d recommend starting with games that are easy to learn and don’t demand a lot of time or intense commitment.
Explore simple games which are relaxing and straightforward where you can play at your own pace without the pressure of competition. These are perfect for unwinding or filling small breaks in your day.
Don't overcomplicate if you’d like to try multiplayer games. Just focus on having fun rather than worrying about being the best. Start with casual modes and play with friends to get the hang of things. Learning strategies with friends are always a plus!
And lastly, the main goal of mobile gaming is to relax and enjoy. Don’t stress about winning or achieving milestones—focus on the fun moments and let the experience be your escape from daily pressures.
Always remember that gaming is all about fitting fun into your lifestyle, so find games that resonate with you and enjoy them your way!
