KIDOZ Play Mode has been Certified COPPA Compliant

By March 24, 2014 No Comments

KIDOZ Play Mode safe environment for kids has just gotten safer. KIDOZ is happy to announce that we have completed the certification process by safe-harbor company KidSAFE and we have met the highest standards of online safety and privacy certification granted by their program.

While KIDOZ has always been dedicated to ensuring the safety of our young users and has consistently complied with the guidelines set out by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), this certification will give parents the extra reassurance they need when choosing our product for their children.

The kidSAFE+ certification means that the “KIDOZ Play Mode (mobile app)” is meeting over 70 individual compliance requirements related to safety and privacy, including COPPA and many best-practice safety standards.  This was achieved through KIDOZ Play Mode’s integration of various parental measures and controls, including a careful selection of family-friendly preloaded apps, a restricted web-browsing experience, an entirely separate mode for the child interface, and various apps and content management controls.

About KidSAFESeal Program: The kidSAFE Seal Program independently reviews and certifies the safety practices of children-friendly websites and technologies, including kid-targeted game sites, educational sites, mobile apps, tablet devices, and other similar online and interactive products. The Federal Trade Commission has approved the kidSAFE Seal Program as a safe harbor program under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the agency’s COPPA Rule.
