Parental Control

The Parental Control Account is a parents-only, password-protected area that allows parents to manage and monitor their child’s KIDO’Z experience. You can access your account and make changes to your settings at any time.

You can access your Parental Control Account either directly from the top white bar in the KIDO’Z application or by visiting http://kidoz.net/parents.

Manage Content

Add Content
Parents can add new websites and videos especially for their kid. Adding content is easy to do and parents can even search Youtube directly from KIDO’Z with special video-search functionality

Share Content
Parents can also choose to share added content, that is not private in nature and that is of interest to other children on KIDO’Z.

By doing so, the content will be added, after KIDO’Z moderation, to the public content stream.

Block Content
Parents can either block specific content from their kids or choose to block all public content and then manually approve only certain content for their child to see.  Although all KIDO’Z content is moderated by the KIDO’Z team to ensure a kid-friendly environment, not all content necessarily suits every child. With the Parental Control Account, parents can decide what content security policy suits their child best and adjust the controls accordingly.

Customized Content
KIDO’Z is automatically filtered for each child based on their account settings.  Examples of these settings include gender, age, language, nationality and the selected security settings.

Content Ratings
KIDO’Z values shared opinions and for this reason, we created the KIDO’Z Content Review system. Through the system, parents can rate and review any KIDO’Z content (either publicly or anonymously) and can view other parents’ ratings.

Localized Content
Kids can access content in their very own language(s). In the Parental Control Account, parents can select up to 3 content languages from a list of over 160 languages. Parents all over the world are constantly adding fresh content in many different languages, so the selection is continuously growing! Help KIDO’Z speak your child’s language by adding new content in that language!

Multi Lingual
The entire KIDO’Z Kid’s Web Environment is available in 17 languages. The languages in which the KIDO’Z application is available are: English, German, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, French, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Czech, Dutch, Swedish, Turkish, Polish.

Adjust KIDO'Z security policy

Adjust Security Level

The KIDO’Z system automatically blocks links, scripts and any other attempts that lead to sites and content that have not been approved, preventing them from being viewed by the children.

KIDO’Z PLUS Parents can further adjust security settings from the Parental Control Panel:

  • Moderation – Parents can limit their child’s content access
  • Exit Control – Exit from KIDO’Z can be blocked by selecting the Start/Exit Settings password-protection option
  • Daily Time Limit – There is also an option to moderate the time that children spend on KIDO’Z daily using our Daily Time Limit function

Manage kids' friends

Manage Friends

Friendship Moderation
Parents send friendship requests, accept friendship requests, and remove friends on behalf of their children. This is done easily through the Parental Control Account. KIDO’Z FRIENDS can be other KIDO’Z users, or even friends and relatives that are not KIDO’Z users, like grandparents and the like.  All friends need to be approved by the parents.

Internal Friends
Friends that are KIDO’Z users are identified by their name and unique avatar. They can send each other cool e-mails and drawings, visit each other’s Virtual Rooms, send each other virtual gifts and more!

External Friends
Friends that are not KIDO’Z users (e.g. grandfather, grandmother) can receive e-mails from and send e-mails to your child.

E-mail Moderation
Your child can only receive e-mails from – and send e-mails to – friends that you have approved. You can, however, also choose to moderate each e-mail that is sent to your child by ticking the moderation box each time a friend is approved/requested. Thus, your child will not receive the email until you have approved it.
