Minibuu is a relatively new player in the kids’ app space. When they first started to consider their monetization strategy, they were puzzled by the variety of ad networks.

They understood that it was very important to evaluate and follow Google’s policy for child-directed apps when choosing a monetization partner. In order to comply as a designed-for-family app, among other requirements, a developer must ensure all ads are appropriate and relevant for children.

Successful Monetization Solution

Minibuu and the Kidoz team identified all the main points to focus on, in order to choose the best mix of ad units:

  • A non-intrusive unit such as the Panel was used, which was additionally tailored to fit the color palette of the app

  • Interstitials were shown between levels at a modest frequency in order to support a non-intrusive environment

  • A premium option was offered to parents to unlock all content and disable ads.

Results

Minibuu’s main traffic comes from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Mexico. Kidoz has a strong presence in these countries, and provides Minibuu with exclusive campaigns coming from top kids brands. There has been a breakthrough in revenue in the first month, and eCPM is continuing to grow.
