How to Rate and Review Kids’ Web Content

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

KIDO’Z content can be personalized by parents and teachers in many different ways, and one of these ways is through the rating and reviewing of content.

Websites, video channels and games can be quickly and easily rated through the Parental Control Account by simply clicking on the number of stars applicable to your rating. To review content, all you need to do is fill in the description below the rating box.

The KIDO’Z community is made up of parents and teachers of KIDO’Z users, and this system allows the community members to share their kids’ experiences with specific kids’ content.

Members of the community can discuss the content with other parents and teachers and in doing so, can discover what other kids enjoy and can see how content is generally rated by the community. This can be done either by name or anonymously, whichever you prefer.

Here is a short tutorial showing how to rate and review content in KIDO’Z:

Have a good week!

Transitioning from ‘Vacation’ to ‘Education’

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

With ‘back-to-school’ just around the corner, kids and parents alike are getting ready for the new school year.

Whether your kid is starting pre-school or grade school for the very first time, or is returning to school for the next grade, there is always a lot of excitement and preparation ahead.

To help kids get into the ‘new-school-year’ spirit, we’ve added loads of new videos into the KIDO’Z educational video channels.

Whether your child is still learning his/her ABC’s, loves creative crafts, or is fascinated by scientific experiments, there is something for every learning level.

The KIDO’Z Smart Content Engine also ensures that content is customized according to your child’s age, so that he/she will have access to only age-appropriate educational material.

Here are some of the KIDO’Z Educational Video Channels:

  • Stories Channel
  • Learning Channel
  • Science Channel
  • ‘How-To’ Channel

These kids’ videos educate children in a fun and stimulating way to make the transition from ‘vacation’ to ‘education’ even simpler!

Parents and educators worldwide are constantly adding new educational material into KIDO’Z, which keeps the content fresh for kids throughout the school year.

If you have any educational videos that you would like to add, please do so from the Parental Control Account and please contact us at support@kidoz.net if you have any questions.

Wishing you all the best for the new school year ahead.

How to Keep Kids Protected on the Internet

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

How would you like to ensure that your kids stay safe within the KIDO’Z environment?
To not have to worry about them finding their way out of this protected system and accessing your PC?

This is all possible to achieve and is easily set-up through the KIDO’Z Parental Control Account.

This security feature allows parents to block exit from the KIDO’Z environment with a parental password.

What this means is that kids will not be able to leave KIDO’Z on their own, and will remain safe in this child-friendly environment until you, as the parent, decide to exit the system.

You can enable this feature by following these 3 easy steps:

  1. Click on the Security Tab, accessed from the Parental Control Account home page
  2. Select Edit Start/Exit Settings
  3. Choose the option: Block quitting kids’ area with parent password

The password that you would then use to exit KIDO’Z is the same password that you use to log into your Parental Control Account.

Here is the video tutorial demonstrating how to password-protect exit from KIDO’Z:

All the best
